Our History
CASA of Shawnee County, Inc. was incorporated on November 25, 1986. This was the culmination of many months of intense work by a small group of individuals who believed a need existed for volunteers to advocate for children involved in the court system.
In 1995, the Citizen Review Board was established to assist the District Court Judge in reviewing the overwhelming number of Child In Need of Care cases.
Today, CASA of Shawnee County serves as part of a national network of 939 state and local CASA/GAL programs.
