Ready to Get Started?

Thank you for taking the first steps necessary to becoming a CASA volunteer. You must be willing to devote the time to successfully complete screening and training, as well as participate in continuing education. Volunteers must complete 30 hours of volunteer training. If you haven’t already, we invite you to take the first step and complete the application below or call our office at 785-519-CASA (2272) and ask to speak to Kerry or Lauren. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have!

Training Dates:
Thursday, August 20, 2026, 5:30pm-8:30pm
Thursday, August 27, 2026, 5:30pm-8:30pm
Thursday, September 3, 2026, 5:30pm-8:30pm
Thursday, September 10, 2026, 5:30pm-8:30pm
Thursday, September 17, 2026, 5:30pm-8:30pm

 

All sessions will be held in-person at the CASA of Shawnee County, Inc. office, which is located at 2942B SW Wanamaker Drive, Topeka, KS 66614 in our conference room.

 

**Required CINC court observations (2 hours, in-person) & Citizen Review Board hearings observations (2 hours & virtual) to be announced on the first night of training.

 

**Training is comprised of 15 hours of in-person classroom time and 15 hours of reading & homework assignments and court observations.

 

A light meal will be provided for all participants.
