The Protector
“He (Dave) wouldn’t go away… he kept coming back and kept explaining what his role as the CASA worker really was… He showed me compassion, he showed me trust & honor… things I knew nothing about.”
A Passion for Kids in Need of Care
“One highlight from this past year was taking a foster youth to learn about the welding program at Washburn Tech. This young man had been struggling in school with attendance, grades, and motivation. He had turned down many opportunities for alternative high school programs that were offered to him. To my surprise, he took me up on my offer to take him to check out the welding program.”
A Lasting Impact
“My heart was being called to serve and give back to the children in our community. After going to the CASA homes for the holiday tour, I was curious what CASA was all about. After doing a bit of research and attending a CASA Training, I knew that this is exactly where my time needed to be given.”
A Life Changing Experience
“My time volunteering as a CASA has provided me with a renewed sense of purpose. However, the best part of the work is providing a foster child a sense of constancy and emotional stability during an otherwise traumatic time in their life. While it can be challenging at times, it is richly rewarding.”
